Maldives Voluntary National Review for the 2017 High Level Political Forum

This report aims to highlight the efforts of Maldives towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, planned programmes and the challenges. This review will attempt to voice out the challenges faced by a Small Island Developing State such as the Maldives, and the efforts made towards overcoming these challenges through innovation, strategic long term policies and collaborative decision-making processes. Innovation and participation of various stakeholders is critical, especially given the ambitious nature of the 2030 Agenda and the need to synergize our efforts in the implementation process. In this regard, financing and resource mobilization from national and international development partners is needed to achieve the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals.
